Capcom has recorded yet another profitable business streak, as the company reported a 35.9% increase in revenue in its consolidated financial report for its third quarter that ended on December 31, 2021. This makes the entirety of 2021 the ninth consecutive year of operating income growth for Capcom, as well as its fifth year in which it achieved record-setting profits.

New titles such as Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin saw massive sales after launch, with digital sales playing a large role in Capcom’s growth for 2021. Sega’s Blue Blur will be back again as Paramount has announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is set to hit theaters in Spring 2027, as reported by Variety. Paramount seems confident about the series’ future, announcing the sequel on the same day Sonic the Hedgehog 3 premieres. The third film is expected to perform well due to the holiday season, even as it goes up against Disney’s Lion King prequel, Mufasa.

No plot details have been revealed for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, but star Ben Schwartz expressed his excitement to return to voice Sonic again on his Instagram page, confirming the news. What we do know is that Sonic 3 will fall in line with the tradition of the films that end with a new character being introduced.

Judgment Actor Will Reportedly Star In Live-Action TV Adaptation Of Sega Detective Series

According to Japanese publication Nikkan Gendai and spotted by Kotaku, Sega’s Judgment series of games may be getting a live-action TV adaptation for Asahi Television, the flagship station of the All-Nippon News Network. The show’s working title is Sabakarezaru, which means “The Unjudged” when translated, similar to how Lost Judgment’s full title in Japan is Lost Judgment: Sabakarezaru Kioku or “Unjudged Memory.”

The series will reportedly star Takuya Kimura, who lent his likeness and voice to Judgment and last year’s sequel. If you haven’t played the games, both of them center around former attorney Takayuki Yagami, who becomes a private investigator in Tokyo’s Kamurocho district. Both games feature heavy themes and deep mysteries, such as Lost Judgment’s plot that focused on bullying, high school suicide, and a murder mystery that threatened to topple the Japanese legal system.

Joker director Todd Phillips created one of the most profitable films in Hollywood history and is following it up with Joker: Folie à Deux this coming Friday, October 4. Would Phillips ever come back for another Joker or DC movie? Don’t get your hopes up.
